Zosch
Unpretentious Drinks and Live Music in Berlin-Mitte
Looking for a no-frills place to grab a beer in Mitte? Zosch on Tucholskystraße 30 is a solid choice. Open from 4 PM to 3 AM, this laid-back bar pours Radeberger, Berliner, and Böhmisch Dunkel on tap—each just €5 for a 0.5L glass. If wine’s your thing, the most affordable option is €4.50 for 0.2L and surprisingly decent.
The menu covers hearty pub classics, including a satisfying schnitzel for €14.50. I personally enjoy sitting outside, but Zosch’s real character lies downstairs, where live concerts are regularly held in the cellar.
July 2021 Note: Zosch remains one of the few survivors of Berlin’s 1990s pub scene. The basement concert room is especially charming. At street level, classic beer garden benches line the sidewalk. While food is available, Zosch’s strength definitely lies in its drink offerings. It’s unpretentious, reasonably priced, and a reliable place to unwind. More details are available on their website.
