Ristorante Da Ponte
Italian Comfort by the Spree: A Quiet Stop on the Way to Moabit
If you’re strolling along the Spree from Mitte toward Moabit in the afternoon, Ristorante Da Ponte makes a convenient and comfortable Italian stop along the way. There’s plenty of space, and the seating is relaxed and uncramped.
I passed on my usual test dish—Spaghetti Carbonara, which goes for €12.50 here—and instead chose the risotto with swordfish, shrimp, and mango (€18.90). It was flavorful, with each ingredient nicely balanced. The daily rosé (almost €9) didn’t impress me, so next time I’ll stick with the house wine at €6.
You’ll find the restaurant at Helgoländer Ufer 7. It’s open Tuesday to Sunday from 4 PM to 11 PM. More info is available on the somewhat roughly designed website.
