June 2023 Update: Chocolate ice cream to-go? Prices have definitely crept up. At €2 per scoop, Rausch isn’t the priciest in Berlin-Mitte, but the inflation is noticeable. The ice cream is decent, though it doesn’t spark the same excitement in me as Hokey Pokey’s version. Still, in the heart of Mitte, I haven’t found a better chocolate scoop—so feel free to send your recommendations! You’ll find Rausch at Charlottenstraße 60, right by Gendarmenmarkt. Open daily from 10 AM to 7 PM.

July 2022 Note: Still searching for that perfect ice cream spot near the government quarter? Rausch Schokoladenhaus comes close. Back then, a scoop cost €1.80—pricey, but standard for Berlin-Mitte. The texture is pleasantly light, even the pistachio flavor. The pumpkin seed oil variety also stood out as surprisingly flavorful. This takeaway kiosk is located at Charlottenstraße, corner of Mohrenstraße, open from 11 AM to 7 PM.
