French Charm and Riverside Breakfast at Ganymed on Schiffbauerdamm

February 2024 Update: Ganymed Brasserie, located at Schiffbauerdamm 5, offers a lovely breakfast daily from 9 AM to 2 PM—soon again with seating right by the Spree. The coffee is solid, and I really enjoyed the Croque Madame (€10.80), served on brioche with ham, crème fraîche, a fried egg, and melted cheese. The fruit salad, on the other hand, was underwhelming. Breakfast options also include more elaborate plates starting at €15. The service was warm and friendly.

June 2022 Note: This French restaurant opens from 11 AM and features plenty of outdoor seating along the Spree, plus traditionally set white-tablecloth interiors. You’ll find all the French staples here—from coq au vin to onion soup. The selection of wines by the glass is very good and reasonably priced for central Berlin.
