Weißbier and Lunch with a View—Erdinger Moments at Gendarmenmarkt
Mitte has no shortage of brewpubs, and if you’re a fan of wheat beer, you’ll probably find yourself at Erdinger sooner or later. I tried the Pikantus in a tasting size—0.25L for €3.90. This dark Weizenbock beer was pleasantly sweet and creamy.
On weekdays, the lunch menu runs until 2 PM, offering a small selection of dishes around €10. I had the fried chicken with wedges, and both were excellent—clearly, they know how to handle a fryer. The outdoor seating promises a beautiful view of Gendarmenmarkt, once the nearby construction wraps up.
You’ll find Erdinger am Gendarmenmarkt at Jägerstraße 56, open daily from 11 AM. More details are available on the restaurant’s website.
