Casalot Restaurant
Vibrant Lebanese Dining in the Heart of Mitte
Casalot offers something few other places in central Mitte can match: friendly, genuinely helpful service, delicious food, and a lively, welcoming atmosphere—at least on weekends, when I visited on a Saturday evening.
The cuisine is Arabic, more specifically Lebanese, featuring a wide range of flavorful starters, stews, and grilled dishes. For small groups, the mixed grill platters are perfect for sharing. I had the Nazareth Kebab (€24)—spiced lamb wrapped around cinnamon sticks, served with grilled eggplant, garlic yogurt, fresh mint, and toasted pine nuts. The portions are generous, so it’s smart to share a few starters and a main.
A glass of Lebanese house wine is €7.50 for 0.2L—decent, though not particularly memorable. The homemade lemonades, however, are eye-catching and beautifully presented. The restaurant opens weekdays from 3:30 PM, with the kitchen running until 11 PM. Reservations are recommended. Menu and booking details are available on the restaurant’s website.
