Riverside Fish & Steak Lunch Near Schiffbauerdamm

Located at Schiffbauerdamm 7, Brechts ranks among the more refined spots on the riverbank. Open daily from 12 PM until midnight, with kitchen service running until 11 PM, it offers an upscale evening menu as well as a budget-friendly lunch section.

Steaks dominate the dinner menu (from €50 up), but lunch brings a pleasant surprise: many mains under €20. I sampled the Zander fillet “Finkenwerder Art” with fried potatoes and cucumber salad (€16.50). The fish was cooked perfectly—just the right doneness. The potatoes weren’t crispy, but overall the dish hit the mark.

They also have well-poured Berliner beers at reasonable prices, and the tableside-flambéed crème brûlée adds a theatrical ending (though I would have preferred it a bit stronger).
