Borchardt
Still a Schnitzel Icon in Mitte—and a Great Negroni Too
Wondering if Borchardt is still all about the schnitzel? Rest assured—it continues to meet high expectations. The meat is tender and flavorful, the breading crisp, and it’s served on a pre-warmed plate. At €36, the price is steep, but there’s a more affordable “lady-size” version available off-menu.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the house Negroni. Seating in the main room is comfortable, and despite the buzz, the acoustics allow for private conversation—ideal for a quiet dinner for two. The service is friendly, attentive, and professional. The kitchen is open daily from 12:00 PM to midnight. You’ll find Borchardt at Französische Straße 47. More information is available on the restaurant’s website.
