Lamb Curry and Shade Under the Trees: Indian Lunch Near Friedrichstadtpalast
Tucked between the Weidendamm Bridge and Friedrichstadtpalast, this Indian restaurant—fittingly named Bombay—offers hearty midday meals at fair prices. For around €10, lunch includes a main dish with soup and bread.
I tried the lamb curry, which was nicely done: the meat was tender, and the sauce thick and flavorful, thanks to pureed vegetables. While they serve Indian Kingfisher beer, I think I’ll go for a mango lassi next time. The standout feature? Shaded outdoor seating beneath a canopy of lush trees—perfect for a relaxing lunch. Open from 11 AM. More information is available on the restaurant’s website.
